About

At the heart of this neo-gothic musical are ten of Nick Cave‘s finest songs interpreted by and reinvented by Frank Theatre.

Walker has been condemned for his sins. With one eye on heaven and the other on hell he hitches a ride with the Black Angel to be reunited with his transgressions. Here, he is stalked by his memories, haunted by unfulfilled fantasies and forced to become a disillusioned witness to his unfolding destiny.

Freely inspired by Cave’s songs including, Up Jumped the Devil, The Carny, and The Mercy Seat, the show was provoked by the notion that a bad man’s redemption is unobtainable in a world devoid of mercy.

Creator/Director: Jacqui Carroll; Text: John Nobbs; Musical Director: Donald Hall; Performed by: OZFrank Theatre
