About

With “voices of spun gold” (BBC Music Magazine), The King’s Singers are masters of vocal harmony. These polished entertainers sing a mix of ancient and contemporary, classical and popular, all delivered with “pinpoint precision and total rapport” (The Times, UK)

In a rare visit to Australia and New Zealand, this irresistibly charismatic ensemble performed on their whistle-stop “Gold” world tour to celebrate 50 years in the business.

In Perth they were joined by the St George’s Cathedral Consort conducted by Joseph Nolan. As part of the New Zealand Festival and Auckland Arts Festival they were joined on stage by New Zealand’s internationally renowned choir Voices New Zealand.

The celebratory programme included music from Gold – a triple-album of new recordings featuring 60 tracks spanning over 500 years.

Reviews

“It was an unmitigated pleasure to experience the vocal sheen and expertise when the two groups joined forces for the rich canvases of Eric Whitacre’s The Stolen Child and Bob Chilcott’s High Flight.” New Zealand Herald

“The King’s Singers sextet were good-humoured, supremely talented, effortlessly accomplished, confident and gracious. Voices New Zealand was impeccably supportive, balancing the sextet and reinforcing the climax of the chosen works. The two groups were complementary, symphonious – superb. It was a refined, inspiring, entertaining evening – a precise, crystalline, perfect concert.”- Stephen Gibbs
