FUEL – Festival of New Zealand Theatre is an outstanding national arts event that showcases the ingenuity, inspiration and diversity of New Zealand theatre.

The 2008 program included fifty performances by nineteen companies including Auckland Theatre Company’s Where Once We Belonged, the award-winning theatre piece, The Case of Katherine Mansfield, performed by Danielle CormackToa Fraser’s hit New Zealand comedy, Bare, and Geoff Chapple’s rollicking Hatch or The Plight of the Penguins performed by Stuart Devenie and directed by Colin McColl.

The FUEL 4 Youth program offered a full range of theatrical experiences to students in the region with major productions in the Festival are also available as exclusive school matinees. The Festival also included the STIR– a youth-theatre commissioning project for emerging talent in the theatre arts.
