About
For the first time in Australia, Colombian music icons Aterciopelados brought their Grammy Award winning Latin indie-rock to Brisbane. Led by songwriters Andrea Echeverri (vocals) and Hector Buitrago (bass), Aterciopelados combine styles with a healthy disregard for musical boundaries fusing: new wave, lounge, reggae, bossa nova, electro, hard rock, bolero, Mexican banda, house, rumba-rock and straightforward pop anthems, not to mention surf-rock guitar lines.
Accompanied by some of the best musicians in Colombia, performing hits form their album Rio including the bi-lingual hit “The Price of Silence”, the pair created magic onstage.
